Alison Teal, MA, MFT

Alison Teal, MA, MFT, is a licensed (MFT21594) psychotherapist since 1986 as well as a Certified EMDRIA International Therapist and Consultant (1998). She completed basic training in 1993 and facilitator training in 1994. Since that time, she has led a variety of EMDR based workshops, lectured on EMDR and trauma in universities over a 30-year period as well as facilitated in EMDR trainings. In 2017, she created a facilitator training manual and workshop and trained EMDR consultants in England. In 2018, she became an authorized CE credit provider for EMDRIA. Her professional orientation is attachment focused. In 2016, Alison developed an innovative EMDR based protocol– Super Resourcing: An EMDR Strategy for Healing Attachment Trauma. Since early 2017, she has been teaching and providing consultation for this model. Alison began her professional life as a Special Education teacher for severely emotionally disturbed children and adolescents. Additionally, in 1994, she founded and directed Creative Explorations; a school for the study of psyche and soul through art. She also taught graduate level psychology at Saint Mary’s College for 14 years. Alison’s work is informed by somatic and ego state psychology and a long-time Buddhist meditation practice. As a life-long artist, Alison’s approach to life is creative. She believes in the indomitability of the human spirit and that we are all capable of transforming old patterns and self-limiting beliefs. Life is short! We all yearn for and deserve to manifest our full potential and purpose and to have it echo throughout our lives.
