Gerard Ilaria, LCSW is a trauma trained EMDRIA certified EMDR psychotherapist and Clinical Director of the Center for Trauma and Addiction at Weill Cornell Medicine in NYC. Gerard has been practicing for 34 years, having done his undergraduate studies in Psychology and his Master’s in Social Work at Columbia University in New York City. He was the Director of the AIDS Program at New York-Presbyterian Hospital through some of the most challenging years of the AIDS epidemic, and then became the Department Administrator of the Department of Public Health at Cornell’s medical college, Weill Cornell Medicine. Over the past 10 years, Gerard has treated combat veterans with PTSD using EMDR, and was the clinical director of a national EMDR PTSD treatment program, providing consultation for 250 EMDR therapists in 26 cities in 11 states and Washington D.C. His current focus is on treating trauma and addiction in the LGBTQIA+ population.
