Conference Registration

Who can attend the conference?

Anyone who has completed an EMDRIA Approved Basic Training or the first part (first weekend) of an EMDRIA approved Basic Training is welcome to attend.

How can I register?

Online registration

You must fill out the registration form on the EMDR Canada website.

After entering your personal information, you will be asked to choose only the workshops you will attend live. Then proceed to checkout.

What happens after online registration?

We will send you by email

  • Your receipt and a confirmation of the chosen workshops,
  • Instructions for creating an account on the HOPIN platfor,
  • The password to access all documents and session recordings.

A week before the conference, we will send you another email with

  • The link to access the Platform HOPIN where the conference will take place,

Can I share my password to access the live conference or my computer screen with other colleagues?

Registration is for single use only. We ask participants to purchase a registration for themselves only and to avoid sharing access with colleagues who have not paid to participate. As a participant in this conference, you agree not to share your personal access. We sincerely thank you for respecting the work of our speakers!

What is your cancellation policy?

Registration fees will be refundable up to 7 days before the event, minus $75 for administration fee. Requests for refund must be made by email (info@emdrcanada.org) or regular mail at:

Presentations

On which time zone will the sessions be streamed?

All live sessions will be streamed in the Central Daylight Time zone (UTC-5h).

If you wish to know the start time of the sessions in your area, go to the Time Zone web page.

Examples for Canada:

Vancouver: Schedule Time -2 hours

Edmonton: Schedule Time -1 hour

Winnipeg/Regina: Exact Schedule Calendar Time

Toronto/Montreal: Schedule Time +1 hour

Halifax: Schedule Time +2 hours

Newfoundland: Schedule Time +2.5 hours

What if I miss a live session?

This year, the format of the conference will be a live virtual three-day conference with the recorded version of most workshops for viewing available until June 26, 2022.  

If there are several sessions that capture your attention, simply choose the ones you want to attend “live”. Come back later to watch the others at your own pace.

What platform will be used for this year's conference?

This year, the Conference will take place on the HOPIN PLATFORM (https://hopin.com/sign_up).

During the weeks leading up to the Conference, we invite you to visit the HOPIN PLATFORM to create an account. This account will be NECESSARY for you to access the event.

*About one week before the Conference of APRIL 22-24, we will send you the link to access the conference on the HOPIN PLATFORM.

PLEASE KEEP YOUR HOPIN PASSWORD HANDY as you will need it to access the platform.

 

 

Can I use my desktop, laptop, tablet and even my mobile device to participate live in the conference?

Certainly, you can use all these communication tools.

Note for mobile: Please download and install the HOPIN application on your cell phone.

What are the browser compatibility for events hosted on Hopin?

Web compatibility for events hosted on Hopin:

Desktop
Currently, Hopin online events platform is fully compatible with Desktop (web) on the following browsers updated to the latest version: Google Chrome – Mozilla Firefox

We recommend running a desktop browser for the best and seamless experience across the Hopin platform.

Note: Other independent browsers that accept webRTC technology may be compatible.

Safari is not fully compatible for video on desktops.

Explorer/Edge is not compatible on desktops.

For macOS users, use Catalina instead of Big Sur for a smoother experience. If using Big Sur, it is best to connect to the event via an incognito tab.

Are all presentations offered with translation?

We ensure that each day offers at least one presentation in French. This year, there will be simultaneous translations only on the Friday because of the  francophone speakers presenting on Saturday and Sunday.

Handouts

When do I get my password to access the handouts from the presenters?

The password will be emailed to you immediately with your receipt after registration.

Please note: all access codes must be entered with CAPITAL LETTERS.

 

When and where will I be able to access the speakers' materials?

All handouts for the 2022 EMDR Canada Annual Conference will be available:

  • On our Conference Website under the  DOCUMENTS tab from April 15 to June 26, 2022.
  • On the HOPIN Platform where the live conference will take place.

Can I download handouts for all the presentations?

YES! You can download the handouts for all sessions.

May I share or distribute handouts?

As a participant in this conference, you agree not to distribute those documents. Handouts are for personal/professional use only.

Session recordings

When will the session recordings be available?

Most of the session recordings will be available on EMDRCANADACONFERENCE.COM for viewing from April 26 until June 26, 2022.

 

May I download a session recording?

Session recordings will not be available for download. They will be available for viewing only.  However, you can watch them as many times as you wish. Access to sessions will be allowed until June 26, 2022.

May I record a live session for my own professional use?

As a participant in this conference, you agree not to record any live session.  However, you can watch them as many times as you wish. Access to sessions will be until June 26, 2022.

Will all sessions be available for viewing after the live conference?

Most of the session recordings will be available for viewing after the conference on our website (EMDRCANADACONFERENCE.COM), except for those with confidentiality issues.

Continuing Education Credits (CEU)

Are all presentations accredited?

Workshops are generally accredited unless otherwise specified in the schedule.  The number of credits awarded is indicated at the bottom of the title of each workshop or in its description.

An EMDRIA approved three hours workshop will receive three credits, a 90 minutes presentation, 1.5 credits. Please note that an application has been made to EMDRIA for approval for CE credits.

How do I obtain EMDRIA Continuing Education Units (CEUs)?

To receive EMDRIA Continuing Education Credits (CEUs) for the “live” virtual sessions of the conference, it is mandatory to fill out an evaluation form for each workshop.

To obtain CEUs after viewing a recorded session, you must complete the evaluation form and answer a few questions in a quiz after the session is entirely viewed.

Once you have fulfilled these conditions, an email with your certificate and the corresponding CEU credits will be sent to you.

When will I get my credits for presentations I attended live and after viewing a recorded session?

For the live sessions, EMDR Canada will send you a certificate by email after the Conference.

  • Do not forget to fill out an evaluation form for each session you attend live.

For the recorded session, EMDR Canada will email you a certificate after June 26, 2022.

  • Do not forget to fill out an evaluation form and a quizz for each recorded session you watch after the event.

Do I need to complete full EMDRIA or EMDR Europe Basic Training to obtain EMDRIA CEU credits?

YES, completion of the full EMDRIA or EMDR Europe Basic Training is required to receive EMDRIA Continuing Education Credits.

  • Make sure to fill out an evaluation form after every session you attend live or watch after the Conference.

Special events

Can anyone attend the annual general meeting?

All EMDR Canada members (and invited guests) are welcome and incited to attend the AGM.

When is the Annual General Meeting?

Join us for the Annual General Meeting, on Saturday April 23, between 5:00 and 6:15 pm. It is an opportunity to meet the Board of Directors, to find out what’s happening at EMDR Canada, and to share your suggestions for future planning.
